How you can help

Report an animal in need

For emergencies, call the hotline above. Use this form for non-urgent situations; we typically respond within a few hours during business hours.

Do not feed or give water. Keep the animal warm, quiet, and contained until we advise.

Quick resources

Is it orphaned?

Many fledgling birds and young mammals have parents nearby. Observe from a distance for several hours before intervening.

Do not feed

Improper food or water can be fatal. Keep warm and dark, and wait for instructions from a rehabilitator.

Safe containment

Use a ventilated box with a towel. Avoid wire cages. For raptors and herons, wear eye protection and use a blanket.
